Building for Community: Ali Curung Youth Centre
MPH Projects is proud to have been appointed as the construction contractor for the new Ali Curung Youth Centre, a project that will create a modern, purpose-built space for young people and the wider community to connect, learn, and thrive.
Delivered by Barkly Regional Council through the Barkly Regional Deal, the $3.1 million project represents a significant investment in the future of Ali Curung. Designed in consultation with the local community, the new facility has been created to meet the needs of local young people while providing a welcoming space that encourages connection, participation, and wellbeing.
A Space Designed for the Future
The new Youth Centre will replace the original 1950s-era building with a contemporary, multi-purpose facility that includes:
- A spacious multipurpose hall
- Kitchen facilities
- Office spaces
- Modern amenities
- An elevated grandstand overlooking the football field, creating a central gathering place for sporting and community events
These spaces have been thoughtfully designed to support a wide range of activities, from sport and recreation through to community programs and events, creating opportunities for young people to stay active, build relationships, and develop new skills.
Building More Than Infrastructure
At MPH Projects, we believe successful construction is about more than delivering buildings. It’s about creating spaces that make a genuine difference to the communities they serve.
As a family-owned Central Australian business, we’ve had the privilege of delivering projects throughout Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, the Barkly region, and remote communities across Central Australia. We understand the importance of working collaboratively, respecting local communities, and delivering quality outcomes that stand the test of time.
The Ali Curung Youth Centre reflects those values. Once complete, it will provide a dedicated place where young people can come together, participate in programs and activities, strengthen community connections, and support positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
Looking Ahead
We’re honoured to be part of this important project and look forward to working alongside Barkly Regional Council, project partners, and the Ali Curung community throughout construction.
Every project we deliver is an opportunity to contribute to stronger, more connected communities, and we’re proud that the Ali Curung Youth Centre will be a place that supports future generations for many years to come.
We look forward to sharing updates as construction progresses.
