Building Excellence: The New Gilchrist Centre at OLSH Catholic College

At MPH Projects, we believe that the environments where students learn, play and grow should be as ambitious as their dreams.

That’s why we are incredibly proud to be partnering with Catholic Education Northern Territory to deliver the brand-new Gilchrist Centre at the OLSH Catholic College Traeger Campus in Alice Springs.

Education infrastructure has always been a core pillar of our work across Central Australia. For us, these projects are about more than just steel and concrete, they are about providing the next generation of Territory students with the tools they need to succeed.

A Vision for the Modern Student

The Gilchrist Centre is designed to be a state-of-the-art multi-purpose hub. Gone are the days of basic school halls; the modern student needs specialised spaces that can keep up with a diverse curriculum.

Here is a look at the world-class facilities MPH Projects is bringing to the Traeger Campus:

  • Elite Athletics: An expansive sports hall featuring steel portal frames and professional-grade flooring for high-performance sports.
  • The Arts: A dedicated dance studio with specialised flooring and custom partition walls to foster creativity.
  • Health & Wellness: A fully equipped gymnasium and modern amenities to support physical education.
  • Student Life: A new commercial canteen and social spaces that will serve as the heart of the campus.
  • High-Tech Integration: From suspended basketball systems to integrated audio-visual technology, every corner of the centre is built for the future.

Climate-Smart Construction

Building in the Red Centre requires a deep understanding of our unique environment. To ensure the Gilchrist Centre is a comfortable, year-round resource for the school community, we are utilising high-rating insulation and high-efficiency mechanical systems. This climate-smart approach ensures the building can handle the Central Australian sun while remaining energy-efficient.

Investing in Alice Springs

As a local contractor, there is a special kind of pride that comes with transforming a campus in our own backyard. Clearing the way for this modern chapter has required teamwork, and we are grateful for the support of the OLSH staff and students as we transform this vision into a reality.

The Gilchrist Centre represents a major step forward for OLSH Catholic College, and we can't wait to see the incredible things the students will achieve within these walls once the transformation is complete.
